Parents could request a place in up to three schools. 98% were offered a place at one of their three preferences, which is also a slight increase from last year's figures. Priority for places was determined by the admission criteria for each school. Councillor Fionuala Foley, Swindon Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Children's Services, said: "It is a credit to our School Admissions Team that they continue to offer so many parents their first choice of primary school, year on year. All applicants will have until May 2 to accept the offer they receive. Anyone who hasn't received one of their preferred schools has the right to an appeal.
